There are many times and many reasons you want to convert one or more BMP image files to JPG files. There are some online services available to do this, but the downside is you are concerned about your privacy when using any services on the internet. Windows has a Windows Picture and Fax Viewer that supports conversion between BMP to JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF file format for each individual file.

If you need to convert BMP files offline and convert by the thousands, you have the good news now - you can do the conversion offline on your computer with a drag and drop and a single button click. You can also do it in a batch when you want to convert multiple BMP files to JPG files in one go. The software is called Convert BMP To JPG and it's a freeware.

Steps to convert BMP To JPG / JPEG

1. Select the BMP files on your computer.

   There are two ways to do this.

   (1) You can browse to the BMP files by using the built-in dropdown list of drives and folders. After the BMP files are listed, you can either double click a single file from the list to add it to the right pane, or you can click [Add All] button to add all the listed files to the right pane.

   (2) Or you can drag and drop the BMP file(s) to right pane.

2. Then add in a percentage value for the quality for the conversion. See top right corner textbox. The default value is 85%.

3. Click [Convert] button to do the conversion.

Convert BMP To JPG is a very small software and requires no installation. It is one of my Swiss army knife arsenal of software that I use nearly everyday.
