MediaCoder is my favorite media files conversion and transcoding tool of all times.

I have been using MediaCoder for quite some time and it's now sitting on my favorite tools list permanently.

MediaCoder is a mix of popular audio/video codecs and conversion tools in an all-in-one transcoding solution. It intends to be the Swiss army knife for media transcoding in all time.

Typical applications

1. Extracting audio track from video files, such as converting music videos download from Youtube to audio files.
2. Improving compression / reducing size for audio/video files.
3. Converting media content for online publication or broadcasting.
4. Converting media content for playback on devices (digital audio player, MP4 player, mobile phone, PDA, PSP, VCD/DVD player etc.)
5. Ripping audio/video discs, such as converting VOB file on DVD disk to AVI files.
6. Fixing corrupted or partial downloaded video files.
